Raw Marinara Sauce

Raw marinara sauce is a vibrant, uncooked sauce that captures the essence of fresh tomatoes in their most natural state. Unlike traditional cooked sauces, this raw version preserves the bright, tangy flavors and nutrients of tomatoes, making it a favorite among raw food enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals alike. Made with a simple blend of ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, shallots, olive oil, and a touch of sea salt, its preparation is as straightforward as blending the ingredients until smooth. This sauce is not only a quick and easy alternative to its cooked counterpart but also offers a refreshing twist to pasta dishes, zoodles, and bruschetta. Its versatility and ease of preparation make raw marinara sauce a delightful addition to any summer meal, promising a burst of garden-fresh flavor with every bite.


Ingredients:


  • 1/2 lb tomatoes, chopped

  • 1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 1 tbsp shallots, chopped

  • handful fresh herbs (parsley, basil, cilantro, thyme)

  • salt and pepper


Instructions:


  1. Soften the sun-dried tomatoes by soaking in water for 30mins or longer.

  2. Place all ingredients in blender and blend to desired texture.

  3. Adjust flavor as desired.

  4. Mix in any additional veggies of choice or use as is for a dipping sauce, on zucchini noodles, etc.


Makes approximately 1 cup.
